Seems like the only way blue fails to score a gammon is if he is hit, so play to minimize shots.

Playing two off the six is the obvious play and otb I doubt I'd think about it very hard. Playing off the four point means that there are two checkers on each of the three highest points instead of only the one or two highest. But it comes at the expense of a nasty gap.

So, play off the four, five, or six, leaving 1, 2, or 3 high points that are even ended?

I'll play off the five since a spare on one of the lower points often helps rather than hurts.
