I suspect that most players would find the best play without use of bank time

Most players wouldn't know their ass from a hole in the wall when it comes to the down and dirty of backgammon and yet they still manage on many occasions to find the best play in virtually no time. Most players wouldn't be able to do the math on how often [33] followed by a hit actually happens so blissfully, they have nothing to think about.
