Typos corrected:

20 pips is not nearly enough timing for a backgame, so it seems like the game plan would be to build the board and hope for a shot or big doubles.

23/22 does look like a good way to play the ace since it allows the rear checker to see daylight, but I'm not seeing a good way to play the three other than slotting the five.

So, I'll just make the five point. Not sure it's right, but when in doubt....
