It's so natural to make the 21pt anchor esp when the opponent already has his five point made. These positions where the opponent doesn't have enough men in the zone to do us much damage if we stay split and there's a viable alternative elsewhere are pretty rare. John was not only the only one to make the correct move, he was the only one to even mention it. The first step in being able to recognize the play as a real option. The second step, with some work, will be knowing when making that play is correct.
