I’m not sure that I’d play it over the board in a casual game, but at 9a-9a or something like a money position in tournament play (or, here, quiz factor), I would seriously consider making the 3 and 5 points. The other plays leave too much initiative to white with little compensation for us. We have a lone blot back, which white will attack. White can also anchor, further emboldening his attack on our back checker.

Even if we’re hit, we’ll be happy to get in a back and forth hitting game (seems likely) with our stronger board.
