21/9(2) basically breaks contact while remaining behind in the race. Not ideal.

13/7(2) 8/2(2) looks good, as does 21/16(2) 8/2(2). The latter gives the option to transition to a running game if the dice go our way, and provides a bit more contact than 21/15(2) 13/7(2). Extra contact vs burying checkers deep?

I'll go with the extra contact. 21/16(2) 8/2(2)
