About the deuce, I would play 4/2. If we play 5/3*, how can blue cover it next roll?

Blue covers or lifts with any ace (11 rolls), any three that doesn't include a 6 (7 rolls), and any two except 52 (42, 22, 62 = 5 rolls). So 23 rolls will cover or lift the blot next roll. 7 more of those will escape the last checker. Only 6 rolls are really bad (44, 55, 54, and 52).

Anyway, I'd play 22/21 5/3*.
