I would definitely look at making the 3 and hitting on the bar. But the more I look at it, the more I don’t like it. With three back, I don’t like making the 3 point so early. We aren’t blitzing and the main idea would be to gain a tempo on white to prevent white from making a good point. Hitting the outfield checker does the same thing and better interrupts white’s early visions of a prime. We also avoid putting another checker on the deeper side of our home board and should have good anchoring opportunities if hit back. The game right now is in the outfield and white’s home board, so that’s where we should fight.
