I know of a few by name at least. The first that came to mind is Ian Macfarlane. I know he used to be very active in the game but have no idea now. Likely you can find these people on Facebook as a start. Then there's Vitor Hollanda who was a player and board maker. Alvaro Savio also at least used to play a fair bit if I am remembering correctly. I'm sure there are more but my feet aren't in the backgammon pond as they used to be and certainly not globally.
