Because of the race, playing the 6 from the 3 anchor looks fairly clear (to me!). Do we then hit? Fewer shots hitting here than running all the way, we may get lucky and pick up the other blot, and not hitting leaves the rearmost chequer vulnerable to attack. 22/16 8/5*.

I have not looked at John O'Hagan's reply yet!
