I like making the 4 & 9 slightly over the 4 & 3. Both plays have advantages and disadvantages. The 4 and 9 play puts 11 checkers in the zone, adds a new point, and gives Blue many more ways to hit or PoH when White enters. OTOH White will be a 3/1 fav to re-enter Blue's 3 point board. The 3 and 4 play gives White 16 dancing numbers but is weaker if White does enter. I think the 4 and 9 would be the DMP play so I'll vote for it here.
