B/24 23/18*, B/20 21/20, or B/24 13/8? There are advantages and disadvantages for all 3 of these. The hit sends a 2nd checker back and gains 23 pips in the race but leaves 5 blots around the board. The blots are a problem for Blue if White rolls D1,D2,D3,D4 or after any single hit/fan sequence. Making the 20 makes the golden anchor but that might be too conservative. Covering the 8 makes a 4 prime but does leave White with 15 good to real good numbers (3 point on the ace, 8 on the 4, plus 33, 21, and 11). I'd hit at DMP and I don't think the gammon factor is enough to make one of the other plays correct for money. B/24 23/18*.
