I had forgot about Venus' crash. Looking to find some details now and in short for anyone who didn't hear about it, in 2017 Venus was in a crash in Florida in an intersection and the passenger of the other car died (husband), while the driver (wife) lived but was banged up pretty good. The case was dismissed with prejudice after a settlement was reached. The settlement amount was not made public. No charges were filed.

As I understand it it was initially thought that Venus rolled slowly through a red light causing the accident. Police later obtained a video and said 'the vehicle driven by Venus Williams lawfully entered the intersection on a circular green traffic signal, and attempted to travel north through the intersection'.

The video is actually public now so you can see it here: Venus' accident. As we can see in the video the other car was traveling at a pretty decent speed.

Given what evidence I see her she wasn't at fault.
