White's chances would be about the same if a checker from his 2 pt were on his 3 pt so I'll say that he's only up 3 pips and now try to assess the gap vs the extra checker. I think that the gap is worse but not that awful since sometimes 5's may be used to plug a hole on the ace. With both sides having several checkers on low points this bearoff is a hybrid between pips and turns and the effect of the lead is greater than in a pure pip position.

Therefore, I think the position is a definate money cube. One can cube at this score, almost as quickly as money since the opp, while having a bit lower TP, is taking a dead cube. With that in mind, I think a cube is justified here as well.

Trivial take, of course since I know I can take somewhat lower than money here and this position looks like a huge money take. If Bob spent much time on this, he probably had lots of time on the clock and was being extra careful, which makes sense in his situation !
