I'd play two down. Two fewer hits for White and 5 extra numbers that will allow Blue to make the 5-point. Making the 3 does strengthen the board which is good if Blue switches to more of a blitzing kind of game plan and it keeps two spares on the mid. Not at all sure on this play but I'll stick with down.
