I have gone back and forth on this my entire lunch.
I think in a game I'd play 6/4 5/4 making points in order and a chance to make the 2 point next which would be overwhelming. I double if he bounces, and I take. If he misses the blot but enters with an ace, then ND I think.
5/2, planning on battering him around later. Hmmm... 12 immediate shots is a lot. Is there a big enough reason? With covering he could be a fly in the ointment with the open 4 point for a long time, and then his board may repair itself. But a maybe a less useful ace will hit him later. Would be banking more on the race, his board a bit uglier for that. Bring down builders, and if he hits the fly shots we are not so much worse than if hit now by leaving the blot. Worse though with the gap in our board.
I think his extra checker on the 2 and his blot leads me back to playing pure. Our sweet board is an edge. Plus more likely to have a good cube soon. I will make the 4 point. The open four worries me he'd hop out and be missed and we would be battling with equal strength boards. Leaving the blot lays it all on the line right now. That sounds OK. We seem much more of a favorite then with the gap.
