My understanding is that in a 1296 rollout, the 36x36 possible rolls are each done once, after which the rolls are "random".

So, the first 216 trials could be rolls that favor one play over the other, which would skew the results. Presumably, XGR++ doesn't have this issue? When I looked, it had the two rolls only 15 milipoints apart, which is about where the 1296 rollout ended up.
