We are way behind in the race, we have the rack and a broken prime. White's home board has more points, but also two blots and one killed chequer.

Options I see are: a) 6/3*; b) some kind of safe play that eludes me.

Hitting seems reasonable: we are behind, the race is in white's favour, there are blots in white's board. Even his best return roll (31) does *not* close the board.

Now for the safe play. We are not touching our blocking points (8, 9). Maybe 13/11 6/5 to minimise shots? Now if white hits, we have a number ≃ 50% chance of hitting back. (On second thought, that 44 is painful enough without a hit too, so maybe 13/10).

In any case hitting seems better. 6/3*.
