One checker closed out on the bar with N checkers off and the rest on the ace point is an easy set of reference positions to remember.

8 off is about 50%. Add or subtract 10 percentage points for the first two additional/lesser values of N, then 7 points for the next three. (it breaks down for "extreme" values of N, but these are clear takes or passes).

Here, white has six off, so we get 30% GWC, but the checkers on the three decrease that by a few points, so something like 27% GWC for white here.

The real question here, once you know the ref position, seems to be about market losers.
