Slightly better to kill 6s and come to the 23-pt with the last ace. After that play, you'll have 11 numbers to escape, 7 that break a point in your board (44,43,42,33,22), and 18 that don't escape and don't break an inner board point. If you instead play 6/5 with the last ace, you'll have 13 ways to escape, 16 that break a point in your board (the 7 bad 5s plus 44,43,42,33,32,22), and 7 that don't escape and don't break. So playing the last ace to the 23-pt allows you to escape before breaking an inner board point 11/36 plus 30% of the 16 neutral numbers for a total of ~15.8 out of 36. Playing 6/5 lets you escape 13/36 + ~35% of 7 for a total of ~15.45/36.
