There's no perfect amount of time to wait to post a rollout. In short, it depends. As you said, if a lot of people (the usual posters) have all taken a shot at the problem then it's safe to go ahead and post the rollout. The least amount of time I ever wait is a day. Generally around a day and a half I find best to keep activity.

The weekends seem to be a little slower than the weekdays for people responding at this point in BGO's life span. For this particular thread I posted the rollout for a couple reasons. First, I never expect anyone who posts a problem to post a rollout. Usually they do but not always. So if after a couple days a rollout hasn't appeared I may toss one out. I did for this thread because it was getting moved down quite a bit from other posts so I wanted to post the rollout before people forgot about it.

Another way to tackle the when of posting the rollout might be the views of the original post. I'd WAG it and say at least 40 views before posting. Some posts get more views, or maybe clicks (potentially by the same people lol) than others but ideally at least 40 seems safe at this point.
