I think any entering number puts the player being doubled in serious trouble. The entering numbers will either hit as you noted, be [33] which is a monster roll, or make a second anchor. With a second anchor made it means the opponent has nothing really to play unless he finds miracle naturals to help wiggle the back men out.

While 5a 5a does have a heightened gammon value on a 2 cube compared to NMS it still generally acts like a NMS concerning the cube. (bc the take point is lower which somewhat balances out the equation except in a scenario where there are a lot of gammons) Here I'd take for money but at 5a 5a I think I just let it go.
