If you get 54 and then opponent does not move I know that 5 point is better with a 31 by a solid amount. Here opponent has some ammo to hit you arguing for the anchor, but you have a stack on the 8 point which will be difficult to make use of arguing for the 5 point.

My play is 8/5 6/5.
