I received this email yesterday and want to share it with those of you who didn't.
Xtreme Gammoners,
Last year, I acquired XG because I deeply believed that this game, this engine, and this community deserved a bigger future. We started a search for someone who could “re-found” XG and bring it into the future.
Today, I’m incredibly excited to announce the person who will lead our next chapter: Marco Provost is joining XG as CEO.
Marco comes to us with an impressive track record in the strategy gaming world. He co-created Ruse AI, regarded by many as the world’s best poker AI engine, later acquired by GTO Wizard, the leading study platform for poker players.
Marco and I fundamentally believe that backgammon is ready for a new era. We want to grow this game together, bring next-generation social and training experiences to players of all levels, and help backgammon become the next generational online game.
The next chapter of XG is about honoring what made it great, while building what backgammon needs next.

I’m extremely excited and deeply honored to join XG as CEO. It’s an incredible opportunity to build the future of a game I love. I want to thank Travis for the opportunity, and of course thank Xavier for making XG.
I believe that backgammon is ripe for its next chapter and my unique background positions me as the right person to bring our vision to reality. I know how to build the engine edge and translate it into a modern product that people use on a daily basis.
I can’t wait to grow the game and turn XG into the category-defining platform for backgammon.
