I'm hitting for the added gammons, which may turn out to be more than one might think because of the chance of picking up an additional checker on the way in and out of his home. It helps that we'll have no root rolls from the bar if we get hit, so our block will hold and we can hope it keeps on doing its job long enough for us to get back up to speed.

Something Marty Storer might call a "viglet": The non-hit gets us to 88 pips, still ahead of his 94 if he rolls a 66 right now. That will leave us still ahead in the race, with better distribution, but he has the cube. He also doesn't have to roll the 66 on this turn, so if we roll doodly and he gets some larger numbers, who knows what might come of that? 15/9*/8 here.
