An additional consideration though is that white gammons on a 4 cube are worth a lot less. It makes blue's gammons worth less also, but if white is doubling to 4 it is likely white who is much more likely to win a gammon.

I know that one is slower to take a blitz cube at 5a 5a score compared to money play. My guess is this position follows that also.
