True, on the cube turns to activate gammons being rare, as shown by some positions on here. I have been surprised by a few where it was no factor. But I know I am more likely to get the cube turn wrong and I believe so are other intermediates even advanced intermediates. I like it to need to be in my head. I think some positions in old books mentioned it as why turn the cube, but were rolled out to be wrong.

I like Jacoby rule in general, it seems simple enough. Maybe accomplishes nothing... but it's what I learned with. Now however if somebody doesn't want it, I dont care. Still have the play on decisions and balancing gammons vs losses.
