Looking Ahead

I read many of your replies, especially to the Position of the Day postings. Many replies often include possible plays for opponent. There is insight into how the play will go even as to several moves.

Did your ability to look ahead come naturally? If not, how did you acquire it? Do you always do this OTB? ... just in some matches? ... against just some opponents? ... OR?
