I'd also add that running with [64] when missed our numbers are more diversified than running with [63] and being missed. It's not only easier to safety the blot due to the direct connection with the 8pt but also the 14pt and 13pt are one pip apart and the 8pt and 6pt are two pips apart. That means we have far more diversification for our point making numbers. If we run with [63] and get away with it both points are two pips apart duplicating our point making numbers.
But yes, a part of it is it is more important to fight for the five point than to fight for the four point. Also, while there is duplication for the opponent with both plays I might look further into which play duplicates 'better'.
