18/12 and then:

argument for 15/11 is you don't want opponent making 4th point in case there is a mishap rolling the prime. Also, I think don't want him hitting loose and then possibly having to deal with a bunch of dangerous trap plays if hit him. I see the gammons gained from those sequences as not compensating for the losses.

argument for 24/20 is that you then have no immediate danger roll and staying back and getting no 4 or higher a couple turns in a row could be trouble. If stay back, will often run with just one checker next turn so delaying a danger that often comes anyways.

With low confidence I will choose 24/20.
