"Cover the ace point at your first opportunity" is a new aphorism for me. Does it apply here? The "natural" play of making the three point looks better to my eyes. Then unstacking the mid while stepping up with the runner also looks playable.

QF says othewise, but I'll stick with the "natural" play of making the three point.
