Usually, you want to fill in gaps when bearing in against contact, but I think we cough up more shots trying to clear the 15 than from the gap. Then there are the two immediate shots we expose after making the four point.

So, I'll just clear the 15 and take a 15 pip lead while exposing no shots. I'm not seeing many gammons, so making the four is more about bearing in/off safely than trapping the runner. And clear the rearmost point now seems to be the way to win by racing.
