I don't think exposing a blot is the right idea, so that seems to leave only three choices: clearing the 5 point or the 8 point or clearing both.

Stacking the six seems to offer more opportunities to play small numbers without blotting; it also keeps 6 checkers in front of the anchor instead of 4, and XG usually likes to keep checkers in front of the anchor. So I'll go with that.
