Just play with one blot: 22/18* 2/1. The double hit leaves two blots so you lose some extra g's while gaining very little in extra winning chances. You'll also have a harder time getting the checker on the 17 home safely since Blue will be moving the checker on the 17 into a double shot vs. just a single shot after 22/18* 2/1. The single blot play does leave more shots but it still looks best to me.
