Even with QF, 10/7 seems absolutely necessary so just do it. For the ace, I'll go with 22/21 so that we're not dependent on a 6 or a couple of combinations to get one of our back checkers into the outfield next turn. It sure looks as though getting blocked and ending up breaking our front game is a threat we have to take seriously, and I'm starting right now by splitting to the front of his block. If we get attacked, it's likely we'll have some return shots, and if not, we're better set to skedaddle.
