Whatever happened to Zare, ZBot, Chow..?

Reading some old posts in RGB and bug-gnubg, I came accross talks about Zare's ZBot, as far back as 20+ years ago, aroung when GnuBG and BGBzzzt were released. Does anyone know why ZBot was never finished/released? Is Zare still around and interested in BG and BG bots?

Also, Tim Chow's website was mentioned the other day. It seems up-to-date but why did he disappear from BG forums. He used to post daily, even many times a day in RGB and here. RGB is no longer active but does anyone know why did he stop posting here? (Not that I miss him... :)
