My understanding of Jeopardy game is that the primary skill is being able to buzz in at the exact moment before your opponents so you have first crack at answering what is usually a pretty easy question (or should I say questioning an easy answer? or maybe I need to phrase this entire response in the form of a question? Have I done that? Should I move on?)

But if you're playing along at home, you have no idea that this is the main skill that separates the goats from the sheep.

The secondary skill is actually knowing something about trivia, but every Jeopardy answer contains a not so subtle hint, so those familiar with the format can just buzz in regardless and usually figure it out. It ain't rocket surgery, otherwise the show wouldn't be as popular as it is.

A distant tertiary skill is the "cube handling" aspect of the game where the daily double allows a player to whomp up the cube. Since the actual game is basically trivial (in the dictionary sense), most of the time simply betting the lot would be the right approach. And if behind? Everyone here should know the answer to that.

Is there something subtle I'm missing here?
