I feel I do know this one. I auto pilot run here. Was told here or some forum or book if they are stacked 3 high on the duece, then stay. So 24 /18 . Have long thought that usually the classique of picking up two checkers needed to be possible, and here it isn't.

But I see variants around this, with three checkers that I do not know. What if its one checker on the duece and two on the three? (And roll is non hitting 52). Maybe stay, ? but thats a guess without trying to calc.

I picked up the Wachtel book, read some of it, but that was several years ago and I barely got started. I often wish I did know it when I get into 3-4-5-6 checkers left situations and I'm on the ace.
