The great part about BGO is you can sift through years and years of info. So first we find that maybe Joe Sylvester coined the terms gammon go and gammon save?!

And on top of that clear cut proof that I actually used one of them first in the 1980s. The pudding

I also tripped over posts of myself, Neilkaz, and David Rockwell at least using the 'pure' terms so at least a few donkeys say it. You can also find posts of arguing over the definition and how/when it should be used. It got kind of tedious but depending on the situation it will dictate which I would argue for using.
