A vast majority of just three bots? Or do we still include Jellyfish, Snowie, etc. to make it more statistically meaningful? ;)
But even then I would agree with you. They are all incest scions of the same daddy...

Yes, but probably minimally better since that would still be just a sibling rivalry within the same family.
We would need bots that diverge not just on the current position but in some ensuing positions also. Existing bots would very rarely or maybe never disagree twice in the same game.
Humans could but not consistently nor in significant numbers.
The other options are mutant-bots similar to the ones I created and experimented with and "personilized, user maintained AI's" that I have been advocating for some time now (which I believe will become reality eventually).

Why not? How would positions being "complicated" matter, assuming long enough trials are done?
What, if anything, would be for you a satisfactory comparison of bots in "complicated positions"?
Don't answer this. It's a trap. I'm trying to humble you a little in front of your ilk. ;) But you are safe. :) You couldn't begin to answer anyway...
