In Response To: clock incident in the money round of the world championship (christian munk-christensen)

I woke up to a lengthy text description of what happened and from that alone my initial thought was 'forfeit/disqualify him'. Then CMC posted this with link so we could get a look at it ourselves.

Details matter. As eventually pointed out by Petter, Jörgen did not stop the clock until Kenji gave him the nod that it was ok. After that, while the die was still spinning and spinning and spinning on top of the checker they exchanged a few words. What were these words? No idea ...Obviously it must have been something to the effect of pick up the die and roll as Kenji hit is clock to start Jörgen's clock again.

Of note, at the start of the Crawford (Kenji) 5 away (Jörgen) game Jörgen was down to 29 seconds on his clock. (and after a few moves down to 22 seconds) Also of note if you watch those games leading up to the last game, Jörgen often grabs the dice a little too quickly for my comfort zone. I hate when my opp's hands are over the board the same time as mine. I cut that shit out immediately when it happens. Wait til I hit the clock, it's not my fault you can't manage your time.

Both of them are using two hands to take off checkers. Both of them are using either hand to move the checkers and the other to hit the clock. Why is it so hard for experienced players to follow the most basic rules?

Anyway, I don't think we can DQ him because Kenji seems to allow both actions. I would have been behind Kenji 100% if he let Jörgen's time run off the clock as the die was spinning or if he didn't give the okay (as it seems to me he did) to pick up the spinning die off the checker and reroll. (and called a TD right away) I understand most people don't want to win a match on time. I'm one of those people. However, I also don't want to be punished for using my time properly when my opponent didn't.
