What people commentating here forget to realize is :
1 - If you are basket ball or golf player or lover, there are multiple examples at the highest level where the ball is spinning a hell of time around the rim before it rims out or a hole lip out in golf.
So none player or spectator can guess where the die will stay at the end of the spin, when the spin starts and lasts.
So do not touch the dice as long as they are alive
2 - What if the rule "dice on checkers" was valid as it is the case in ABT or UBC tournaments ? Jörgen would have lost on time ?
3 - More broadly, I don't understand when a match is streamed and commentated by experimented players and repetitive misconducts or behaviors are noticed, the commentators don't call the TD to make a rules reminder to one or both players.
Usually the commentator tells, it is up to the players to call for the referee. No it is not. Of course they can.
But the rules are defining a frame and the referees are here to ensure players will stay inside (before any incident if possible occurs or after).
See it as educational (for the world of the backgammon players) even though the players do not feel annoyed by these misconducts.
4 - In this clock incident, it would have been positive to call Arda (the TD) and to wait for his ruling.
By the way, ruling will be based on the rules of the tournament and the sportsmanships of both players.
