The PoH threat is real, but not all the pointing rolls are equally strong. PoH with 54 or 52 leaves a much better follow-up formation than 31 or 41. If you roll one of the weaker ones, and he just enters one checker on the 4, how does it look now, especially if you've doubled? And the above leaves the non-pointing 6s out of it. Have I left anything out that we should worry about? Yeah, our gammon threat would be bigger and badder if those two dead spares in our board were somewhere in the attack zone. Right now we have six checkers to land just so to make three points. And poor Junior is still stranded in Oppo's board, so we're going to need a turn to get him out of there, too.

Unless I think there's a good chance of drawing a pass, I'm waiting for another improvement, and not crying in my mango lasse if I lose my market. NRD/T
