Blue won't be afraid to hit loose here, even though he's the only one that can lose a gammon. It's not as though there will be any hit/fan sequences >> So his chance of getting to a closeout look pretty good. And he's likely to be able to have his spares land well also, since he can hit loose rather than pick and pass to his low points. And once he gets there, White's chance of winning drops to under 10%. Sure looks like a redouble to me.

What about the take? Even if White gets several tries for an entering double, or sequential 4s or 6s leading to an anchor with one still on the bar, he won't necessarily win the game from there. Blue may have to play carefully to balance his gammon risk with maximizing his chance to split up White's checkers and then Hoovering them all up again, but as my mother would say..."He can jump off that bridge when he gets there."

I'm pretty sure this is a redouble, and it's likely already too far gone for a take. RD/P
