I hate positions where all or at least most of the details don't point in the same direction. Here we are out boarded with basically an even race. These points would argue for a quieter play. The only pure quiet reasonable play though is 22, 5. This simply allows the opponent too much freedom.

Hitting two is the chouette play made by everyone in 1.3 seconds. I have found that even given the above facts of the position, it is a lot more likely to be correct to smack two checkers around if the opponent has more blots spread about the board. In the scenarios where we are hit but not with a joker like [43] or [11] hitting two or another doublet hitting and anchoring up we are favored to enter and perhaps we can still clean up the position in some way to survive. The misses are gigantic of course.
