Seems to me that hanging back and waiting for a shot is the right idea here given the ~20 pip deficit. But we need to keep our board intact and staying on the 21 gives us more timing to do that. OTOH, the bar point holding game offers more opportunities to hit so stepping up to the 18 looks playable and may be the bot move.

I'll hang back on the 21 due to the timing, and that in a few rolls white may have to choose between crunching and exposing an outfield shot and the 21 may offer more shots. Not sure at all.
