In case it's not clear, I meant that as a general cautionary about complex, small too-goods. Even if the gammons are few and far between, if you can always "bail" into a d/p, well OK, play on. But if you look at the cross-section of 36 rolls XG conveniently provides and realize no, you can't always "bail", or you wouldn't have gotten them all right, or that after your worst ones Oppo can roll something where you then don't know what to do, then you can be retroactively OK with having taken the point(s) instead of playing on and maybe messing up.

Here, because of all that can go wrong on the misses, and that without a closed board we aren't chasing as many gammons as we would be if we had one, I'll take the points and be happy. BTW when you post positions, I have been assuming you/we are playing against the bot, which AFAIK never indulges in funny mushrooms and so will never give you the odd, off-the-wall take that a human might.
