Is handling opponent's checkers to help you count the race allowed?

Maybe I'm the only one who is in strong agreeance with you. I think it should be illegal. Hell, I am even good with it being illegal to touch your own checkers before you roll. For me it's akin to using outside assistance to help you with your game. You can't use pencil and paper to help you with the pip count, you shouldn't be able to touch checkers in any way to do so.

UBK wasn't asking about this specific situation, he was asking in general. If you need to have a rule for in general it has to be this is not allowed. You can not make a working rule that states "ummm, ok, you can touch them but only a little".
