I don't know how much is "a lot" but considering that Hedgehog doesn't know how to beaver like your BGBuzzt doesn't know, I can also say "I'm pretty sure" that he must know about backgammon only as much as you do...

Yes. After 25 years, you are still "ironing"... Just like the guru said: "Iron on, iron off; iron on, iron off"... :)
Give Hedgehog 25 years to iron also and it may come to know the value of the cube and how to resign, etc. (which, to your credit, your BGBuzzt is better at).
On the other hand, to its credit, Hedgehog doesn't make false claims about it's capabilities unlike your BGBuzzt does.
I have played a couple of dozens of money games against its web version and came to conclude that it must be for entertainment purposes only and, (unlike for GnuBG and XG), not for challenging yourself against it and/or to learn anything from it.
But at least it doesn't do weirdo things like aborting one in six games, etc. like Frank's BGBuzzt does and maybe the paid version plays differently (i.e. better) than the free web version?
Can anyone share their impressions of playing against this yet another "artificially intelligent animal"? (among others like Jellyfish, Gnu, Octopus, Raccoon, etc. :)
Personally, I can't wait for Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, that will hopefully arrive by Christmas... ;)
