In terms of the evaluation, I'm certainly no expert on the cube. I thought that evaluations at the beginning of a long match would essentially be the same as a money game, except possibly for the Jacoby rule, in which case there is no such thing as "too good to double" with the cube in the center. I assumed GNU would automatically kick in Jacoby in a money game, so I just used the beginning of a long match, thinking somehow this would be "better". If I have some misunderstanding here, I'll be glad to listen and learn from the reasons.

As for the 4-ply, I thought I read on rec.games.backgammon the GNU is not reliable above 2-ply. Again, if it ain't so, I'd be happy to hear that.
